About
About My Renewable DIY Energy blog and Why.
Welcome to my Renewable DIY Energy Blog.
I came back to live in the UK 2 ½ years ago, after working and living overseas for around 16 years.
Now that I’m home and have got our house and all the other million and one things sorted out, I can concentrate on something that has been nagging me for some time, that mainly being the state of our environment. I know there are a lot of things going on that are not doing our world any favours, and that we as individuals, have not much control over. However, we each can control one area that will make a difference, and that is the way we use energy, and where we get it from.
As we all know, the way forward is renewable energy, though our governments seem to be dragging their heels in that area.
Anyway, what we can all do immediately is utilise energy conservation practices in our own home, and in using our private transportation. The next step after that, if practicable, is renewable energy for our homes. Obviously DIY Green Energy is more cost effective, and more satisfying than the ready built Kind, so I would think that that is the route that most of us would prefer to take.
So, the internet being the way forward, and it really is a truly global community, there is no better way under the Sun, of contacting like minded people, who feel as passionately about our environment as I do.
I am fanatically passionate about our beautiful and maybe unique home, our planet Earth.

I don’t get it. You still have to take the 240v that comes out of the microinverter and transform/rectify it to charging voltage for the batteries. So the microinverter just adds another 8% loss to the system, compared to a DC-out MPTT controller like FlexMax 80. Also, much of Andalay’s propaganda is bogus — nobody in their right mind has 600 VDC wiring, shadows on one panel don’t affect the output of other panels, etc. Yeah, this system makes sense if all you want to do is pretend to sell electricity back to the grid (note: they might buy it, but it doesn’t really go anywhere except into heat at the first transformer), but if you actually want to USE the generated electricity, a conventional system is much more efficient.

I don’t usually make remarks on blogs and I am not sure pertinent so at liberty to remove it.absorbing.truthful opinion, some web sites are boring drivel and zero of interest to read, but your article was a lot more fascinating than most I have read. Thanks for publishing about topic as I really like to learn more about it. There’s a bunch of good info on the net. A fair amount of that info here on your website. I’m impressed – I endeavour to keep a few blogs somewhat on-going, but it can be difficult occasionally. I found your blog on Thursday through Google while searching for motorcycles batteries and your post regarding Renewal DIY Energy and Conservation made me leave this comment. I always enjoy coming to this site because you offer great tips and advice for people like me who can always use a few good pointers. I will be getting my friends to pop around fairly soon.
Hey mate, greetz from Hawii !
Your template is very good! This is nice!
Thanks for posting this article. I’m decidedly frustrated with struggling to search out pertinent and rational comment on this matter. Everybody now goes to the very far extremes to either drive home their viewpoint that either: everyone else in the planet is wrong, or two that everyone but them does not really understand the situation. Many thanks for your succinct, relevant insight.
I found this blog while searching for earth4energy manual today. Interesting.
Greetings! I’m new to the site. I’ve read several comments about cooling solar panels but I haven’t seen anything about this: Will spraying the hot surface of solar panel glass with cool water break the glass? I am concerned about the sudden temperature change introducing stress to the glass surf.
Amazing, really outstanding information. This blog is really awesome. I bookmarked this and will return once again.
Its amazing how interesting it is for me to visit you very often.
